MEET OUR COMMITTEE MEMBERS
The Bridgnorth Twinning Association is an independent organisation run by a committee of volunteers.
Chair
Nicky Cooper
Nicky has been a member of the Association for 9 years; in the past she has been Secretary. She took on her current role of Chair at the AGM in 2023. Nicky is also a town councillor, chair of governors at the Wordsley School, a trustee of some local charities and is treasurer of St Mary’s Church. She certainly keeps herself busy!
Secretary
Suzanne Huxley
Suzanne returned to Brigdnorth 7 years ago to be near family, having moved away after attending Bridgnorth Endowed School. She lived near Stamford for nearly 20 years where she trained as a teacher and taught German and French in a number of independent schools in the area. Upon returning to Bridgnorth she taught German at Shrewsbury School retiring 4 years ago. Suzanne is a keen golfer and recently completed a year as Lady Captain. She has been involved in school exchanges for many years and is keen to support the Association.

Heather Poole-Gleede
Heather joined the Association in 2022. After studying both French and German at school and college, she went on to enjoy many holidays in the Vendee region of France and lived for a short while in Munich, Germany. She also spent several years travelling extensively throughout Europe with her job.
Heather has been running her own business in Bridgnorth for 20+ years, and also holds the position of Chief Executive Officer with a national Trade Association. In her spare time she enjoys walking, swimming and gardening as well as volunteering with Bridgnorth Gateway Club of which she is a Trustee.
Vice-chair
Valerie Seabright
Val moved to Bridgnorth to be near her daughter and her family. She is a retired teacher and has been heavily involved in politics and twinning in her previous hometowns. Val joined the Association in March 2022 and became Vice-chair at the AGM in 2023, she moved to the role of Secretary for 2024 and in 2025 returned to the role of Vice-chair. Val has visited both Schrobenhausen and Thiers. She is also a member of Bridgnorth’s u3a, improving her French and German language skills and learning about art history.
Youth Liaison
Faye Nicklin
Faye is the youngest member of the team, by far. She has twin boys aged 6. Before having her children, she worked as a French and Spanish teacher. She now works as a part time French and Spanish tutor and is involved with the 8th Bridgnoth Squirrel and Beaver Scouts. Faye is very keen to get children and young people involved with Twinning.
Committee member
Tony Green
Tony has been part of the Association for a very long time. He joined the Committee at the AGM in 2023. Tony has also recently been elected as a town councillor. Tony retired to Bridgnorth over 35 years ago after having travelled the world, he is our oldest committee member at 87 years young and has visited both Thiers and Schrobenhausen many times, forming lifelong friendships.
Treasurer
Fran Spicer
Fran joined the Association in March 2022 and became Treasurer at the following AGM. She has previously held the post of Treasurer of Bridgnorth Rugby Club for 5 years and is still very involved in the Club. Having retired from a career in banking in 2018 she now works part time as a veterinary receptionist in Bridgnorth. Fran has always enjoyed meeting new people and spends much of her time socialising with friends and family.

Yvette Tipper
Yvette has been involved with the Association since 2018. For several years she informally took on some secretarial duties to help promote the Association and also to organise social events. She re-joined the Committee in 2023. Yvette is a retired nurse. She has visited Schrobenhausen on numerous occasions and has made many very good friends there, she has also been to Thiers. She enjoys foreign travel and loves cooking.

Linda Hill
Linda rejoined the Twinning Association and committee in 2025 after having been a member in the 1990’s when she was also a member of Bridgnorth Spartans Junior Football Club when she, along with her husband, Harold, organised many trips for the players and their families to and from Schrobenhausen. Linda is also a member of Bridgnorth Rugby Club. She worked in a bank for 11 years, for a local firm of Funeral Directors for 20 years and continues to help her husband with his business. Linda loves spending time with her grandchildren, and also gardening when she has time!
