Local author Emma Woodhouse has recently written a book about a murder that happened in Bridgnorth on 4th December 1848. It is a fictional account but is based on true facts. Emma conducted a great deal of research before writing it, visiting both the archives in London and Shrewsbury and reviewing the censuses. The Twinning Association is hosting a talk by Emma about the book, Mercy, and the murder on the very night it happened, in the very room where it happened. Members and non-members are all welcome to come along and listen to what will be a fascinating talk. The book is a great and captivating read, providing an insight into the poverty and deprivation of the time, ultimately leading to matricide. Tickets cost £5 each and include a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie. We look forward to seeing you at Severn House, Underhill Street, Bridgnorth WV16 4BB to learn all about it.
