Don't forget this coming Thursday 23rd April from 3pm in the Town Hall we will be showcasing the hard work of our local schools in the preparation of banners to be displayed throughout the summer in Thiers. We will provide certificates to our young local artists and enjoy a cake and a cuppa. All members are welcome to see what an amazing job our children have achieved and to celebrate their work. The Mayor will be in attendance.
Saturday 2nd May from 9am - We will be running a tombola stall under the Town Hall to raise funds for the Association. We would be grateful for any donations of prizes and any help on the day would be much appreciated. If you can't help please pop along to say hello and try your luck!
Sunday 31st May from 3.30pm - We will be holding our AGM at 3.30pm followed by a social bring-and-share gathering from 4pm at Yvettes' house. No one really enjoys an AGM (but it has to be done), so we thought we would combine it with our annual summer get-together. Once the official business is over we can crack open the wine and enjoy the summer sunshine (hopefully) and share our delicious homemade fare. And of course there will be a raffle!
Saturday 6th/Sunday 7th June - The annual Bridgnorth Open Arts Trail weekend sees the Twinning Association holding a tea and cake stall at Fran's house, Severn House, Underhill Street. We will not only be raising funds but also raising the profile of the Association. The Arts Trail is an incredible weekend where local artists display their amazing work in houses, shops and businesses across Bridgnorth. It is well worth taking the time to visit all the venues, but make sure you drop in to Fran's for a delicious home made cake and a cup of tea or filter coffee.
Friday19th/Saturday20th/Sunday21st/Monday 22nd - Trip to Schrobenhausen's Schrannenfest. We already have over 40 members of the Association and their families travelling to Schrobenhausen for our triennial visit. Some will be travelling by car, some will fly/drive whilst others will fly. It is an amazing turn out with which, we, the Committee, are delighted.
DATE ADDED - Thursday 30th July from 7pm - Quiz Night at Bridgnorth Rugby Club - with quizmaster David McDowell who will be testing our knowledge, probably with a French/German bent (knowing him!). Always a great night. Cost £5 per person. There will be no refreshments but of course there will be a raffle!
Friday 2nd October - Due to the popularity of the last two sold-out talks, we have decided to hold a third "Evening with Emma Woodhouse" where she will explain her research and discuss the murder (or was it?) in her inimitable and enthusiastic style. It will, once again, take place in "the room where it happened" - Severn House, Underhill Street. Tickets will be available soon at a cost of £5 per person. If you were unable to make the last two talks it is a very entertaining and enjoyable evening, one not to be missed.
We very much hope you will be able to join us at some, or all, of the above planned events. If you would like any more details on anything please get in touch.
