The annual planning meeting, hosted by Thiers, took place on Friday 30th January 2026. As last year it was held remotely rather than face to face. It was lovely to see our friends from Thiers and Schrobenhausen, albeit remotely, and we are looking forward to travelling to Schrobenhausen in June 2026 to meet in person.
We discussed the current situations in our three towns. Pascal Hanse, the President of the Comité de Jumelage de Thiers, explained that there are soon to be mayoral elections in Thiers in March which are taking up alot of the council's time.
We discussed the success of our current twinning projects, for example, the Christmas card exchange where school children from the three towns create and send cards - much enjoyed by all those who participate.
Hartmut Seigl informed us of the very sucessful German-French week, based around pantomime that the Verein Schrobenhausener Städtepartnerschaften e. V. had put on for the town.
We also considered new ventures that we could promote to get more townsfolk involved, for example, more sporting and music group involvement.
The programme for the trip to Schrobenhausen was proposed and is looking very exciting... many of our members have already booked their flights and are eagerly awaiting the visit.
